Solar Power Systems

Solar Photovoltaic (PV) uses energy from the sun to create electricity to run appliances and lighting. PV requires only daylight, not direct sunlight, to generate electricity.

Solar Power Systems

Hi all,

By a stroke of luck I have been approved a £8K rebate towards a solar system connected to the grid, even though I sent my application well after the closing dates.

I have until May to have the system running before the offer expires.

I have been looking through the vast amount of information that can be found on the internet but it's all a litle confusing, trying to compare different systems from different manufactures is like comparing biscuits and cakes for me.

Of course I'm trying to walk the fine line between quality/efficiency and cost.

I'm thinking along the lines of a 1.5 to a 2KW sytem. Reagrdless of the size, I have decided that I will opt for the larger 2KW inverter so that I can upgrade at a later stage to a 3 to 5KW system......and actually generate a small amount of cash.

So, my questions are

1. Has anyone a recommendation for or against a solar company in Newcastle
2. Has anyone a recommendation for or against a particuliar brand of equipment
3. Has anyone applied for further grants
4. Have you any advice for a solar system type novice :D
